I have just had fiberglass batts installed in my cellar ceiling (paper side up). Cellar is not otherwise insulated, but I did have vents put into ducts to provide some heat down there as and when necessary. Question I have is whether there is some fabric/material which could be used (stapled to joists) to on the cellar ceiling side (down) that would improve look of cellar yet not impair insulation/encourage mold, etc. My batts have random pieces, tufts hanging down even though secured with those wire push-in braces. Has anyone done something like this before? I’d appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks,
Adam

You could use Tyvek or some similar building wrap. It's bright white to lighten things up and allows movement of water vapor.
