CROWN MOULDING: DETERMINING ANGLE OF CUT
I am installing crown moulding around the top of some new kitchen cabinets. I have a Delta Sidekick sliding compound miter saw, so there is no need to cut the crown upside-down since I can cut it while it is laying flat. The saw is premarked for the angle to cut for 90 degree corners, but I have an angled corner wall cabinet. Does anyone know the angle I need to cut the crown for these two 45 degree outside corners? Is there a formula for determining the angle of the cut for common angles? 22-1/2 degrees, etc.
Thanks for the help!

Steve o, the answer is M= 13.6 B=17.9 I recently bought a Bosch miter finder. Look for it in tool crib. Leigh

Thankyou,

Thanks Ken.
Joe, I assumed he was using 38 crown. My numbers were from memory, but surely not more than a half degree off. can you adjust the bevel on your saw within those tolerances.
Hi, Leigh-
On my CMS I can adjust the miter within 1/4 degree- I think it's called a vernier scale. The tolerance for setting up the bevel angle, well......................

Hey Joe,
Thanks so much for the terrific information. I was able to complete that crown moulding project very quickly last night, without having to waste time trying to figure the precise miter and bevel settings! Your chart on your website is exactly what I was hoping to find.
Thanks again!
