The DC pot lights halogene bulbs with the transformer built into the assembly cost 2X(+) than the same size style that run 120V (AC) halogene bulbs. What is the advantage?
I have run the 120V with dimmers found them a bit noisy at low settings. Is this not so with 12V?
Thanks to any and all, Patrick.

I don't think they're DC. They're low voltage. There are advantages to low-voltage bulbs, but they're technical, having to do with the filament diameter, etc.
Controlling a transformer with a dimmer can be a problem -- gotta have the right dimmer and the right transformer.
