I have a customer who wishes to have copper flashing placed around the top of her deck rail. She does not want flashing bent with a ‘brake’, wishing for a slightly more rustic look.
Other than trying to shape it with a 2×4 and a dead blow hammer, I am unsure how to get something that has no creases and will not scar hands. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?
Also, the sizes of flashing available in my area will need to be cut lengthwise. Will tin snips provide a laceration free edge?

Run a metal file, then sandpaper, over that edge. It would be better to round over the edge by a mechanical means.
If you need to snip a lot of copper, a pneumatic nibbler will work nice
Cutting a long cut w/snips is more involved than you think..to avoid the stabbers you need to steer the snips and maintain an angle to he face of the cut ( about 10 degrees) feed the snips hard into the cut linr, do not close them in the kerf ( a tip snip), and get Malco straight cutters.
Remember, greens are one way, reds another..yellow is useless.
Malco are NOT AV;.snips..justa straight or left turn. But the leverage is awesome.
Ele. nibblers are pricey, and air use a LOT of air.
I cut a lot of Cu every day, trust us.
