John,
Check out the conversation (are they called “threads?”) initiated on 5/21 regarding “Soaking Tubs.” Someone mentioned the “Oriental” by Sunset Plastics. It’s 42″ deep, and has a one and a two person model. ARP, American Reinforced Plastics makes a soaker 32″ deep. Americh makes both a one and two person model 32″ deep. All the one person models are in the $575. to $650. range up here in Alaska, so should be somewhat cheaper in America. Kohler makes a tub they call something like the “Greek” soaking tub. As you’d expect, it’s priced considerably higher…something like $1250. These are all made to use as bathtubs, and NOT as hot tubs. If you want to keep water and chemicals in it, you need a different kind of finish than any of these suppliers offer. You can have the appropriate clear-coat added after the fact, but the cost is more than the basic tub. I looked and looked for one I could use as a small hot tub and finally gave up and built my own.

In search of a one or two person tub that is simple in design, deep (up to the shoulders while relaxing in it), comfortable, and equipped with jets. Preferably one that doesn't use or need obscene amounts of water. Highest quality. Any suggestions? Thanks.
