OK, I’m trying to think of what to ask for this Christmas. Don’t think she will get me a new MC, and she can’t give me more time in my day so…
Is the Dewalt Jobsite Radio any good? OK, so it charges batteries, but how does it really sound? Loud distortion? Or actually pretty decent? I see it’s a analog tuner… not exactly cutting edge.
Opinions?
TIA

Sounds good, good volume, needs 6' tie wire for antenna, plus adds another charger to site.
*Matt - Fred Lugano reviewed this radio for FHB either last issue, or the one before that. Said something about enlightening subs!
*OK, I'll have to dig out the "paper" and see what he says. You've got my curiosity up - the thing about the subs.
*That slide tuner is what threw me off. I'm old fashioned in most things, but I won't own a radio like that anymore.
*Yellow chargers are better than black ones! Wouldn't be without it on the job site. kkearney is right about the antenna. Like a Ram truck: built like a rock. (Sorry chevy owners)
*I don't own one, but two of the guys on our crew do. All I can say it that the radio kicks butt even when the tools are screaming and it charges batteries to boot. Can't beat that.Ed. Williams
*b TVMDCI hear DeWalt has an accessory cassette recorder that plugs into the accessory socket. It will also play backwards. That way when you record Country and Western and play it backwards, the cowboy gets back his girl friend, dog, horse and pickup.b CDMVT
*Bad Bill, real bad...& whats a CDMTV VTMDC? Joe H

*Last time I heard one of these I called the cops. There's enough noise pollution without overloud, badly distorted cacaophony.
*Well our stupid antenae just fell off...Built like DeCrap.near the stream,aj
*I didn't end up buying the Dewalt. I couldn't find out much good about it other than the infomercial that FL wrote in the mag. The technology seemed inferior in the radio portion. I ended up getting a b louder better sounding unit - no charger but, but I got a CD player and cassette, and it's "weather resistant" for about the same price. I'm thinking I can use it for camping or something too.
*My Dewalt fell 17' of a second story deck and still "Rocks out" . Pretty dang good radio/charger for the buck.
*Seems like a waste of $130. For fifty bucks or under, you can get a decent box that has digital tuner, CD, cassette, etc. Granted it won't come with a "roll cage", but so what?! So the thing gets dented a little. As for the charger: If you have battery packs that need charging, you probably already have a charger(s).Just my nickel's worth. LJ
*Hey watch it!! You just filled the cassete drawer with sawdust. Can't ya wait to use the chop saw till I get some really neat tapes in here? Damn these cd's are sure gettin scratched up packin um around in my bags.Ok, If I'm going to be the disc jockey on the job one of you guy's has to hold the nail gun.Anyone got a duster? This "ted" just filled the tune box with sawdust.Let's see, where can we put these detached speakers, What?? time to roll up Already???
*Point taken. I admit I've used up a couple of old tune boxes on the job site, and usually just listen to the radio anyway. The problem is finding anything worth listening to -- depending on which side of the hill I'm on, how many times I bow to the East, the price of tea in China, etc. I think I may be a bit miffed that I don't have the change to drop on one of the DeWalts right now. Later. LJ
