Anyone ever use ditra over existing tile? I am repairing a balcony that had water intrusion on the outer edges and I don’t want to demo the whole area but want to use Ditra over the existing tile and our repairs and then tile over the Ditra.
My concern is trying to bond the Ditra to the existing tile with and unmodified thinset.

Ask at johnbridge.com...where you will find LOTS of people are using modified thinsets with Schluter products.
FWIW, I just used some Ditra for the first time for tile over concrete. I mis-read the directions and used modified to bond the Ditra to the concrete. I let it cure for a week before using the floor and had no problems.

Mike,
Thanks for your .02. I got a call back this afternoon from the area Schluter rep and he is coming out in the morning with coffee for my crew and we are going to check it out. The modified/un-modified was my only concern and he said it wasn't a problem in my situation because the tile I am going over is rough textured thin brick paver and using un-modified will not be a problem. I was thinking modified because I didn't want to have an adhesion problem. He said an adhesion promoter or scuffing the brick was a worst case scenario.
