I am planning to install marble tile over a Warmboard subfloor in my home in the next few months and wondered if anyone had “real world” experience with the combination of Ditra and warmboard. Is Ditra really as good as they claim or is Hardibacker the way to go?
I’ve spoke with both manufacturers and there is a difference in opinion on Ditra over Warmboard – Ditra won’t warranty until further testing and Warmboard claims it is fine…
Anyone with firsthand experience with these two products??
Thanks!!

FWIW, I've used Ditra over hot water radiant and it's been fine. Dunno about Warmboard specifically, but if it doesn't get way hot, can't see what the problem would be.

I've never done it and I wouldn't try it either. I would not sleep well knowing I troweled thinset over pex tubing and aluminum and expected it to bond. I'm not even sure what effect the thinset would have on the pex/aluminum interface.
Warmboard doesn't have to warranty the tile job!
