I am installing double doors in my closet and I am wondering if there is a rule of thumb about how much to add to the width of the two doors to figure the width of the jamb?
Thanks
Randy

FOr a single swing door I add 3/16" to the door size to get the header spacing. For a double swing door add 5/16". Gives a nice 3/32" revealon the doors. These measurements are for masonite type doors. If you are using solid lumber rail and style doors, I make the same reveal in the summertime (higher humidity and the door will shrink in the winter)but in the winter (dry in the house) I allow more room on the reveal so I don't have to go and plane the door off in July due to swelling... Trust this helps.....
First we get good- then we get fast !
Thank you. That's just what I needed.
