Drywall backer for tile backsplash?
Does tiling a wall above a kitchen sink/counter require a cement-based backerboard. The wall currently has blueboard on it, does the blueboard alone have enough moisture resistance, or do i need another barrier?

You would be fine with that. Cement board is always better, but the tile back splash behind the sink isn't going to get saturated in water. You should fine with the blue board.

Blueboard is fine unless you or the wife shower in the sink.
Tile away.
