I was planning on purchasing the Telpro drywall lift in the near future but was told that there are a couple of other lifts available at half the price that do the job as well. Any experience with any of the other lifts?
Thanks
Ron

Ron,
I see Northern Tool sells a red-colored knock off of the Telpro for a few bucks less. I bought my Telpro about ten years ago and its hung, hanged, lifted? several thousand sheets since with no trouble whatsoever. The brand name might be worth the extra bucks?

Ive used various lifts. If you dont buy a tel-pro youre wasting your money. I wont use anything but a telpro anymore. The design is awesome, you can do walls, tall ceilings with the extension, gabled walls, cathedrel/vaulted ceilings.]
Youll find that the lifting wheel/pully system is designed well, the height of the lift as far as loading your sheets, the support arms and the sheet holders are all smooth operators.
If youre worried about price, rent a telpro and avoid buying cheap junky lifts.
Seriously youll waste money and regret your purchase of a cheap lift, Id rather use no lift then a poorly designed cheapo lift.
get the telpro, proven design, works great
why buy a chinese photocopy?
be grateful that the guy at telpro took the time to design and build it right, and he did
caulking is not a piece of trim
I have the Telpro, couldn't be happier. How much are you going to save? I paid less than $600.00 for mine from Tool Crib, with free shipping. When I am not using it, I have rented it out for $90.00/week. So far I have recovered over half of my investment. Only rent to guys I know will take care of my equipment, and they know my equipment is better than what the rental store has. Same brand, mine is just not abused the way the rentals are.

This is just a test responce to see what hapens when I try and add a new post to this old (bogus) thread. BTW - it is interesting that in the Tools folder topic listing it says you started the thread, yet when I get in the thread it shows the origonal guy porche998 as the owner of the initial post. I'm guessing that during your first try at starting a thread - which went over to this old one - whatever you typed got lost....
why do you think all the rental places use Telpro?
It's what I have and it's built like a tank!
harbor freight also has the red knockoff that someone posted on another thread. i bought the same thing online several years ago and it was a lifesaver. i was able to hang 12' sheets on the ceiling and walls by myself. plus it gets loaned without worry, because it was so cheap.
