looked at some DURA-WOOD factory finished oak flooring today. Has anyone worked with this brand before ? Good, bad, o.k. ? 3/4 by 2 1/4 , 25 yr finish , $2.99 sq ft.

Hopefully you're talking about the interior flooring Lumber Liquidators sells and not the outdoor decking material.
I would not use Dura-wood. Look closer and you'll see that the boxes contain about a ton of short pieces 6-12" long. Makes for a nasty floor install.
If you're looking for an economical pre-finished oak floor without buying the junk from the big box stores, take a look at Somerset. http://www.somersetfloors.com
They were/are a big supplier of unfinished flooring before bringing out their own line of pre-finished. Good quality, nice side bevels with end butts, smallish number of shorts per box.
For better quality, check out Muskoka or Kahrs.
