I am building a small home in Vancouver BC and am trying to find an electric heating system that will work with project. The house is built with 6″ sips. It is 2 stories on full with open stairways from top to bottom. It has an unpoured basement, sip 1st floor, Q-decking and plywood 2nd with a sip roof. The 1st and 2nd floors will be finished with bamboo flooring. The dimension of the house is 8′-6″ wide X 80′-6″ long, Yes it is!
Can anybody suggest a type of heating system?

8'-6" Wide? That makes your interior clear space something like 7'-5"? Uh, that's pretty wild? Assuming you have a corridor 36" wide, that makes your bathrooms pretty tight? Interesting.
without having run a heat loss, I can say for sure that your floor space is limited then :D
I strongly doubt any infloor system will do the job by itself, even with SIP construction. Perhaps the numbers would prove me wrong, but in general I would expect you'd need supplemental heat if you went with in-floor here.

I thought electric in-floor was for comfort heating only?...that's not a mistake, it's rustic
If that's the goal, then sure, you can warm the floors. It won't be primary heat, though.-------------------------------------
