Have finalized a room within a master suite closet that is to be used for valuables etc. Wife now wants a remote electronic locking device…vs a key driven device. I am thinking solinoid driven electonic lock or an electronic doorlock that I can wire to a button in another area of the closet.
Looking for others who can share their work in this area and direct me to products.

Welcome to BT.
I've used Simplex products, both mechanical and electronic, but I get them surplus cheap, pretty pricey otherwise.
Consider a simple option that will work even if the power is out. Unfortunately, have made these up myself, don't know of a commercial source for the whole setup.
I assume you did the closet yourself, so rigging up the simple option should be no problem.
The simple option is to put a pull ring or false knob (can be in another room even) connected via a piece of 3/32" dia aircraft cable to a spring loaded mechanical latch inside the locking closet.
thanks for the ideal with cable...sometimes it is the easy thing that seems so far out of reach...
Think I first saw the idea in Pop. Mechanics in the 1950s.
The PM lock idea was for a remote cabin, big spring loaded drawbar inside the door, out at the corner of the cabin, there was a 'loose' 16d double headed nail left in the siding - pull that and the counterweighted drawbar lifted, kinda like the old medival portcullis.
That's kind of a 1920's speakeasy setup. They did a lot of hidden rooms and secret latches.

I've seen locks like that at Lowes. They have push buttons on the device and I think they came with a key fob for remote use. That might be just what you're looking for.
I had one of those on my front door for a while - really liked it, but it had plastic parts - just didn't last more than a couple of years.
I've built several hidden doors and on one of them we used a remote controled deadbolt to lock the hidden door. It had a remote similar to that that you use for your car.
This was a few years ago and about 1000 miles away so I dont have access to the place or the name of the company that we got the deadbolt from, have to see if I can find any info on it.
On many of the other hidden doors we were able to hide the deadbolt or design the door in such a way that it cant be accidently bumped open.
