I have a screened in room off the back of my house that I want to enclose into a kitchen remodel. I am in southern California so I have no frost line, cold or heavy annual rainfall to consider. the outer wall is a concrete block retaining wall 6 ft. high with 4 ft. of screened area above block and a solid cover roof that is part of the existing house. the floor between the existing house and the block wall will be raised with proper clearances to supports etc. my questions is: what kind of set up do I need to dry wall the inside of that block wall. do I need a vapor barrier with a drain system underneath, I will have ventilation under floor, or can I just fur out and attach dry wall to furring strips.
thanks in advance
Jim
