hello, another question on my current project, finishing an unfinised space which is partially below grade with about a 3 foot high block wall and the remainder framed. The ceiling is insulated but most will have to come out in order to run wire and install can lighting. The ceiling contains alot of plumbing (water and drainage) and heat ducts so the insulation is compacted or droping in alot of the bays. The space is heated and cooled. Other than sound insulation I dont see a need for the ceiling to be insulated.
Your thoughts on reinstalling the insulation

We can imagine something that only exists in our heads, in a form that has no measureable, tangible reality, and make it actually occur in the real world. Where there was nothing, now there is something.

I agree with you--other than for sound insulation (and I strongly doubt that what you have is doing much at all in that respect; there are better ways of reducing sound transmission, if you cared about that). I can't see any reason to keep the insulation or to re-insulate.
