Our home has a Natural gas fired forced air furnace. It is a 120,000 btu unit that is 4-7 years old. the furnace currently uses inside air for cumbustion. I have read or heard somewhere that in a less well insulated home such as ours (residing and upgading insulation is this years priority Project), this can be a major cause of excessive dryness and increased fuel usage.
My questions are:
1. Will an outside inlet for combustion air help?
2. Are there any major concerns that I should be alerted to?
3. How should I size the intake?
The Exhaust vent is 4″ which runs lees than 6′ to the chimbley.
Any input would be greatly apreciated. Thanx in advance
