This is $40. Is it worth it? As advertised in FH, the bath vent fan and principal light are wired to the switch. Switch on and the light and fan come on together. The fan remains on for a preset time after the switch is turned off, turning off the light.

There is nothing perfect.
If you have a separate switch then it either does not get used when needed or left on all the time (assuming that you don't have a cheap one that sounds like a play card in bike spokes).
I like the idea. But I think that my favorite one would be to use a humidstat, but it does nothing for oders.

If they can come up with an automatic fan switch that's wired in series with a humidstat and an electronic olfactory sensor, that will make it a throne fit for the king.
Broan has something similar, and they list it at >$80
you just saved $40
I installed ####several Lutron (600w) dimmers last week...the cost from a supply house were between $149 - $189 ea.
We have one. Well worth it. Gets all the residue out of the bath w/o us having to think about it.
As for the Lutron switches - you bought them in the wrong place - Home Depot sells the exact same switch for about half as much. Lucky you didn't have to install the 1000watt variety.

good deal. I think I paid around 60 from HVAC quick when I got my Fantech fan for the john.
I'd say it's well worth it. Of course, this is only true if you have a separate wire running to the fan, and the added fan on time should be >5 minutes. The other option is a separate fan switch with a timer or humidistat built in so it will run after the room is vacated.
