I am looking for feedback on fiberock aqua tough in wet environments, spec. in a shower stall used as a tile backer. Also, which is the finish side on this stuff? I can’t find good info. on installation besides the general Gypsum products web site. Thanks!

Welcome to Breaktime!
The Bathroom were doing right now includes Perma Base cement board in the shower area. I read somewhere that Green sheetrock will be a thing of the past soon. We always use backer board in all of our showers. Cost a few more $ but the only right way to do it.
The cut side is also the side you install the tile to with this product, which is stamped. We also use the Rock tight screws with this product. 8" O.C. with the screws.
Once installed we fiber mesh all seams & use 2-3 coats of hot mud to seal.We spend the time to make sure the fit is flat & true. To cut for the shower valve we use a roto zip with the right bit.
Been using this method for 15 years & have yet to have any call backs. Have you checked out http://WWW.nationalgypsum.com ?
Good Luck with your project!
