I cannot seem to get a clear cut answer from inspectors about flashing requirements for pouring concrete steps and patios against panel siding. Is flexible flashing adequate or only when used in conjunction with “L”flashing. I have an elderly h/o that apparently needs to remove 40 lin ft of beautiful exposed that was poured up to the door sill, although flexible flashing was used. Is there an alternative?

Well, as a plain common sense answer, pouring a hunk of concrete up to "panel siding" is a bad idea, no matter what kind of flashing gets used, or what the inspector says.....unless, of course, your step has one he!! of a slope away from the house!
