Does anyone out there have hard proof of what method of floor bridging is most effective at stiffening a floor and not squeaking?
I have always done solid blocking, but don’t know if it is best.
Thanks
Andy

Solid blocking, continuous from one end to the other, snug fit, no breaks, wins hands down.
Any blocking or cross bridging that is not absolutely continuous from one end of the foundation to the other is not worth half a pinch of coon sh*t.
