This is a flooring question.

I had a house built in 2004 with a slab foundation. To save $$ I stained and sealed the slap with a thin coat of xylene. Now I’d like to go back and cover with tile, hardwood floors, and carpet. Some sub-contractors have told me prior to installing tile or hardwood, I’d have to strip the xylene. Is this true? The xylene I placed was thin enough that it’s worn off in high traffic areas. Also, what are other issues I need to address with this project?
