I’m considering trading in my Paslode Powermaster Plus (the new round head design) for a Bostich N88 framing nailer. Supposedly the Bostich drives a nail with 1000psi where the Paslode only runs at 650. Seems like it would be a better gun, especially when nailing LVL’s and other eng. beams. Been a di-hard Paslode man for a long time, and would like some feedback from people who have used both guns on the pros and cons of each.
-the Bostich uses wire coallated nails, any problems with the wire jamming the driving pin?
-in all types of weather my Paslode performs quite well, how does the Bostich hold up in cold, wet weather?
-are the strip nails interchangeable? They don’t look like they are. I’ve got a Paslode Impulse gun (the infamous Lobster) and this would mean buying 2 types of nails.
All the other features of the Bostich seem quite good, the “drop and slide” reloading, the simplified depth adjustment, and it seems to be well balanced. Comfortable to use. Any and all feedback would GREATLY be appreciated.
