I have been trying to put up the gaskets that came with my Halo can lights. They are suppossed to cover the gap bewteen the can and the drywall to keep air from passing through. These gaskets are a thin foam rubber type material with adhesive on one side. The problem is they don’t stick good on my ceiling, which is latex paint over drywall. Is there a better way to solve this air infiltration problem? Maybe some caulk in the gap?

I think the gasket attaches to the trim..not the ceiling.
Caulk gap from behind if possible.
