I need to order gravel for a foundation’s permiter. I will be using it with filter fabric and 6″ perf pipe. I was trying to decide between pea gravel and 3/4″ gravel.
Is there a specific type I should use?
Is there a technical term I should use for either when I order it?
Any help would be much apprecited.
Thanks,
JPS

using it with filter fabric any of the stones will work. Pea gravel is pea gravel 3/4 stone is 3/4 stone some pits call it 10a, but seems to be a regional thing. as long as it is washed stone order away. Price is usually by the ton, so I quess which ever one is cheaper.
Around here we usually use what they call #57's which are about 1"-5/8" crushed limestone . You may want to use something that will still retain the voids even if silt did get past the filter fabric eventually because now is ur last easy chance.
Here #57 is mixed sizes of river stone. Definately not crushed limestone. Odd how the composition varies. Not supposed to use limestone locally for drainage, not sure why.
