I am designing a shower/bath with a Grohe Freehander, a hand shower, and a tub spout. I don’t want a diverter on the spout. I’m looking for a valve that takes water from a thermostatic control valve, and then directs it either to the tub spout, the Freehander, the hand shower, or both Freehander and hand shower. Is the Grohe diverter / 5 way transfer valve (part # 29 714 000) what I need? To supply mixed water, I think I need a Grohtherm control valve, like part # 34124. If I do that, I think one of the inputs on the transfer valve needs to be capped. <!—-><!—-> <!—->
A Grohe rep suggested that we use 3 separate control valves, but we want to be able to do this with the 2 pieces I mentioned above only. I’m having a hard time confirming exactly what the Grohe parts do from looking at groheamerica.com. I think other manufacturers make what I think I need – the Hansgrohe quattro diverter, part number is 15374181, allows mixed water to go to one of 3 ports, or a combination of any 2. Also, the Kohler 3 way transfer valve (part number K-405) has similar functionality. <!—-> <!—->
Do I have the Grohe parts right, or is there another part I need, or do I need to go with Hansgrohe or Kohler? <!—-><!—->
Thank you, <!—-> <!—->

Take a look at the Hansgrohe Thermobalance III.
It'll do everything that you're asking, and it's an all-in-one valve. It has volume and temperature controls as well as a diverter as an all-in-one package.
The diverter can send water to:
-just the tub spout
-just the freehander
-just the handshower
-both the freehander and the hand shower simultaneously
Will that work for you?
That sounds like exactly what I am looking for and I like that the volume and temperature control are in one valve. Thanks so much for your help!!
Most excellent! You're welcome.
