I’m going to put some aluminum gutters on my workshop/garage, 44′ long. I seem to remember reading someplace about snapping the 10′ lengths together, but I can’t remember the procedure, what cuts you make, etc. I also plan on putting these up in one long length, with help from some props. Is this feasible or should I forget this and use the little connectors. I would like to avoid these if possible.

I've installed gutters a few times over the years, best advice I can give you is call the seamless gutter company. They did my shop ,30'-0" long both sides for under $200.00 if i recall. My shop was easy to do even if I did it myself. I have no luck ( or maybe no expertise) with the joints, at least one joint in every run seems to leak after a few months.

Thanks Mike, but the gutter guys are over an hour away and I already have the materials sitting here waiting for me.
If you didn't get seamless, you're stuck with the connectors, IMHO....
I just noticed your screen name, I used to have a Ford 8N farm tractor.Built in 1949, just 5 years newer than me.
I hope your better at the seams than I am.

I agree with the seamless gutters. I had a seam right outside my bay window. No matter what I did, I could not get that seam to stop dripping water. Eventually, water dripped on my bay window to the point of causing rot damage. The seamless gutters went up and no more proplem.
I hate putting a ladder up them, they are easy to dent.
Notch the top "curl" back about 3" on one end.
(You'll just be cutting the part inside and along the top)
Apply a couple of liberal beads of butyl caulk accross this 3" area.
Press the uncut piece into the caulk and pop rivet together.
Do assemble the entire thing before installing.
And in a couple of years, you will still wish you had gone seamless (about $3/foot around here)
