Hi,
We resurfaced our countertops in the kitchen with handmade ceramic tile that is almost a half inch thick and has a nice glossy finish on the top side. Just after the installation, we spilled some olive oil and it stained the tile such that we couldn’t get it out. We were a bit suspicious when buying the tile that it might not stand up to kitchen wear and tear and we tested sample pieces with the usual household cleaners, all was fine. What type of finish might these tiles have that would allow olive oil to stain them?
Since the tile is layed, what would be the best sealer to coat it with to prevent permanent staining in the future?
Thanks in advance,
Jon
