pay heed to the comment about the wet hose sitting in the closed space !!!
if you want a really nice setup use a tub only faucet and then get the following stuff from Alson’s:
lady alson hand held head — 480
double spiral 79″ metal hose — 495ds79
48″ sliding rod mount bar — 15031 (24″ also avail)
ALL METAL swivel fitting — 5002
wall elbow flush with flange — 4990f
now mount the elbow NOT UP at shower head heigth but down near the faucet level. you will have a nice comfortable drape of the hose and maximum ability to move the hand held head around any which way you body likes it and also a stationary head at your own optimum heigth.
This has been my standard bath remodel setup for many years with lots of very happy customers.
In my own master bath I have this DUPLICATED ! for both stationary and hand held at the same time. I call it my poor man’s european body spa.

Does anyone make a hand shower head that can be pulled out like a Grohe kitchenfaucet with the flex tube inside the wall?
I see that there are "roman bath" faucets with a hand sprayer and tub shower equipment that look like they are either low rent retro-fit or from a hospital with all the brackets and hose on the outside. It seems to me this should be done by someone, but I've drawn a blank.
Thanks for any input.

*Bob - There may well be one but there's a good reason not to do it. The wet 'corrugated' metal going back into the wall in a humid environment is an ideal place for all sorts of things to grow.
*Grohe and others make an in the deck retractible hose encased in a metal jacket. If you want to put it in the wall, could prob. be done as long as you engineer it so it doesn't get hung up.
