Plastic cylinder about 3" long 3/4" dia. and it slides freely on the cord. I think it may clean up noise in the current.
It is just an anti-theft device. I've removed 3 of them, just get a small screw driver and unsnap the tabs.
Is that what it is?
The first one of those gizmos I saw came on a DW double compound miter saw. If I wrap the cord around the saw motor between the blade guard and the belt drive housing, I can slide that thingy down the cord and it keeps the cord from unwrapping during transport - it is handy, I think I'll keep it.
Second one is on a Bosch router - it is up close to the motor and does not slide as easily as the DW -- and is a PITA - I'll get rid of that one!
Thanks,
Jim
