Im writing this post again because it didnt show up the first time.
I will be installing 3 new Andersen double hung windows in a couple of weeks in the middle of a gable end wall of a home.
My question is the outside of the home has Hardi plank siding clap boards with a 4″ exposure. How do i remove the siding i need to remove to install the windows without totally trashing every peice. I need a techneich to remove the areas in the feild that need to be removed so i can properly install the windows and seal them from the weather, i have never worked with this type of siding before.
Any and all suggestions that will help me get the job done right are welcomed
Thanks, Ricky

I had to do this for a door opening and didn't have much room for error. I nailed a 1x2 saw guide where I wanted to cut and used a skil saw with a fiber cement blade (HD about ten bucks). Take your time and smell the cement burning!
I know you are only kidding, but actually you don't want to smell the cement burning! The silica dust that is generated from cutting the siding is very very bad for you! Wear a mask while doing it!I don't understand! I cut it twice and it's still too short!
