I have a walk-in shower (no door) with a glass block outside window. I like the semi-open area, but it does not hold the heat very well. I was wondering if a ceiling heat lamp fixture or heat source exists that is approved (UL) for “inside” a shower or damp area. My electrician did not know of any.
Thanks for any suggestions.

We have had a regular recessed white heat lamp in ours for over 40 years now and, outside of a very few bulb changes, is doing fine.
It really helps!
I had thought about that, but my electrician said it is against code (probably wasn't 40 years ago). It wouldn't bother me to sidestep the code but I was worried that splashing water on a hot lamp might pop it. If you say that hasn't been a problem, then I might just try for it.
Thanks for the info.
Well, ours is about a few inches past the shower door into the bathroom, not directly over the shower. Would be hard to splash water to there.
You still get a very generous amount of heat and light in there.
You may consider if such arrangement would work for your bathroom and still be up to code and safe.
We have one in our plans and the electrician suggested we put it even closer than we had drawn it. We had it a little further away so it would be over both the shower and bathtub by it. He must not think it is a dangerous spot. He is very careful that all is up to code and safe.
No one wants it if it is not safe, of course.
You must be very tall or expect wild showers, if you think water will splash clear to the ceiling. Never occurred to me, at 4' 11".;-)
