I’ve been framing custom homes for about five years so the basics of stick framing roofs like hips, turrets, overbuilds and the like are no problem, but every now and again we get a bastard hip or some other head scratcher and we think, “There has got to be a better, faster way to do this! Where is all the collective knowledge of this trade stored?” I have heard of the books above, but am not familiar with them. Are these what I’m looking for?

In the FHB Jan'98 issue there was a review on a book called "Roof Framer's Bible: The Complete Pocket Reference to Roof Framing". Author is Barry D. Mussell. Does anyone have info as to how to order this book?
*ISBN 0-9643354-1-7. Try Amazon.com. Mine was about $18 for hard bound.
*I posted this question a few weeks ago and found this info that might help. 1) Amazon has the title you want 2) I was told to look into " Roof Framing" by Marshall Gross" , not only did I look at one at a local place but liked it so much I ordered it as well from Amazon
