Gents–
I am in dire need of help!!
I have done all basic electrical work before, and have just moved into a shop that has double pole breaker already in, but I need to rewire it to connect to my powermatic 66 3hp.
Anyone out there that can give me a quick run down, wire type, I have the 20amp outlet, right now there is a 12/3 BX cable running free at both ends into and out of the space to the box (will this work?).
I can’t afford to get an electrician, can’t find my wiring book, and need to use the machine today…
HELP!

With so much information lacking and you want to be up running today... Hit the public libary.
They will have some DIY style books that will have a wealth of information to suit your needs. You can have it almost now.
What have you got?
Do you have a 12/3 cable running from your saw to the service panel? And there is a double pole breaker in the panel? What is connected to the breaker?
How much amperage does your saw draw? I think 12 ga. cable with a 20 amp breaker seems kind of light for this, and if there is any distance to it, you may be asking for trouble. Do you plan to hardwire the saw to the box or are you trying to set up an outlet for it?
