Help with a ancient B&D Super Sawcat
I’ve had a venerable old B&D model 3047, type 2 , 7-1/4†“Super Sawcat†cut off saw for ages. Its many unique features, (blade brake, removable outer shoe, easy to use depth gauge,) still make it my favorite. The new kid on the job site managed to catch the blade guard retraction lever with his boot. And rip it clean off. I need a replacement blade guard for this unit, and my tool guy up here in the peaceable Kingdom, (<!—-> <!—-><!—->Canada <!—-><!—->,) says parts for this saw are no longer stocked. Surely I’m not the only guy who reveres this saw. Does anybody know a parts source for this unit south of the 49th?
Thanx in advance for any help.

See if one turns up on Ebay.
Personally I think it was the best sidewinder ever made and why they stopped is beyond me. Mine finally gave up the ghost about 5 years ago and I just gave it away. I hope you get it repaired.

I have a Dewalt saw that was identical to that model and replced the lever with one off of a newer dewalt. It fit fine. You might try dewalt for parts as well.
I've got 3 of the 3048's and one as a parts saw, but the guard is going to be a different size since it is an 8 1/4".

Try this link and see if this is what you need. If not, dig around their website, they've got parts for just about every tool that's made.

OOPS! Sorry about that, I should have scrolled down enough to see the parts are no longer available for that model before posting.
