Well, for only $120 a night, plus airfare to Hawaii, you can stay in one and see how you like the layout:

or you might write to the couple featured in this real estate "puff piece"

I have run across very little on hexagon shaped houses. An octagon seems to be a much more popular shape as I have seen several houses and houseplans in that style. There has been some discussion in the past on Breaktime on the angles for an octagon, but I don't remember much else, but a search of the archives might prove me wrong.
*I was going to say check with the bees and their hives, but I won't.
*I built a Lincoln Log hexagonal home of cedar logs in Curacao.near the stream,ajIf I could post pics...http://www.lincolnlogs.com/
*AJ - what scale was the Lincoln log house and how old were you. I had some Lincoln logs myself, but I think they only "supported" 90º angles. Can't quite remember, as it was about 40 years ago!Lynda - Seriously though, we had a discussion here not more than a few months ago where someone was asking about some kind of kit homes, which I believe, were made in Western NC. The homes were either hexagonal or octagon. Anyone remember that thread? I wouldn't even know what to tell you to search for. Anybody?
*1 to 1 scale...built 8 years ago...on a hot island just North of the equator. Windy...very windy spot. First pic. I took was of the wind blowing like a gail...It blew like that for the whole six weeks along with blinding sunshine, humidity and high temperatures. Great memories though...especially snorkeling.near beach at that time,aj
*AJ: Sounds like a way cool project. Just kidding about the scale thing.
*Matt, the one discussion that I remember that might be related was the discussion asking for info on timber framed octagonal homes which was just about a year ago at:http://webx.taunton.com/Webx?128@@.ee8723eThere was a very long thread on framing an octagonal roof a few months back.
*Casey:No - I don't think that's it...The one I'm thinking of had a link to a web site that explained all about how the components for these houses were built in a factory and then assembled on site...
*Not much, but...http://www.tassie.net.au/~candrews/256hex.shtmlhttp://www.hgtv.com/HGTV/project/0,1158,BDRE_project_1121,FF.htmlhttp://www.millennial.org/mail/talk/fmf-lbc/hyper/0865.html
