Saw your write up in JLC today. Congrats!
The article was interesting reading. It actually enlightened me to my own situation and I now see why I was having charging for estimates in the past. I like your process of a pre-visit mailing. I guess you are operating in a much bigger league than me however as many of my jobs are rather small for the professionalism of such a mailing. I DO know that first guy in the article was if his criteria is a $50k job! WOW!
Do you have many folks balk at the charge? I tried to charge a while back but no one would pay up. Folks don’t even want to pay for drawings until they know the estimate of the job. And how can you estimate a job without drawings huh? (Chicken-egg kind of thing) I guess it goes back to the wrong target clients I was marketing like you said in another post?
