Anyone have any experience / comments regarding the Hitatchi 10″ Table Saw? I’m looking for a good jobsite saw but don’t need all the bells & whistles, or the price tag that come with the Bosch or Dewalt saws. Like the larger table on the Hitatchi vs. other similar saws. Have used primarily a Makita 8.5″ and am looking for something with a little more capacity and power.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Just saw the post a couple lines down and it sounds like Makita gets hearty votes. Admit that I like Makita, but curious about the Hitatchi.
Thanks again.
*Got a pre-release demo of this saw from factory engineers and distributor reps a few years back and seemed to be pretty good tool. We were trimming a mall store addition and tried it ripping 6/4 maple, poplar, and fire-retardant pine and it seemed OK. They didn't leave it with us and have never used one since so I can't comment on long term durability, etc. We have both the Makita 8 1/2" and the Dewalt 10" and I like them both, especially the fence on the Dewalt. Haven't used it long enough to comment on switch and brushes which seem to be Dewalt's main problems.Hitachi has always built a good tool.
*I'm looking for a good shop table saw. Quality is #1 and price not an issue. Any recommendations or suggestions where I could find a comprehensive Table Saw review. Thanks in advance for your help

*Saws are a very personal thing, but a review in a tool magazine was favorable towards the Bosch. I have a Makita in a Rousseau table and love it for accuracy as well as lightness and portability. However, the stock fence that comes with the Makita does leave much to be desired.Dennis
*TMG:Quality #1 and price not an issue? Then either the Delta Unisaw or Powermatic 66, depending on which way you want the blade to tilt. Last review I read, Powermatic still ages castings the old fashioned way while Delta uses some kind of induction process. Don't know enough about this to comment, though, and it's been a long time since I did any research on fixed tools.Check the back issues of FWW as they run reviews of shop equipment frequently.Get the biggest motor you can afford and that you can supply the current for.Bill
*Joe -- I bought the HITACHI 10" Table Saw about 1 1/2 years ago and would highly reccomend it. It has a very sturdy/heavy duty feel to it. Powerful too. I have used mine for mostly furniture/cabinetry/trimwork, and it has worked fine. Seems to have a very powerful motor too -- it's never stalled or balked up on me. 1x red oak or 2x doug fir goes through it like butter. I have heard some complaints about the fence being not as accurate as it could be. I have no complaints about it, however, I have noticed that Hitachi has redesigned the fence mechanism on the current model. Have only seen it in catalogs though. I paid $300 bucks for mine -- with the metal/steel stand. I think its a great value.
