Holding unfaced insulation to ceiling
Any simple suggestions for holding unfaced insulation in the stud bays? I’ll be covering it with drywall temporarily too.

3-M spray on contact cement.
Thanks dovetaiI. I'll keep this in mind if I need to install it permanently. This is a temporary fix I will be spraying in insulation.
The same place that sold you the insulation should carry springy metal wires that span the gap between joists to hold the insulation in place. They are usually used on ceilings, so I'm not sure if you will find them in 16 o.c. for use in walls.
EDIT: I just re-read your post...the thread title mentions "ceiling" but your question asks about studs...which is it?

Thanks Justin. They are the ceiling joists. I guess I called them studs because they are 2x4 joists. Seventy plus year old house.
I've had good luck stapling string to the joists every 2'-3'. That hold the insulation in place and the rock goes right over the string.
Thanks Dave45. Your tip is just what I needed.
