Hello folks: New guy here and I thought I might pick everyone’s brain. I have a friend who has added a recirc pump to his system in the house. It’s a 2 story about 2500 sq. ft. anyway his pump was completely plugged with some kind of mineral. (black like magnesium) he also has abundant calcium in his dishwashers (2) I was wondering if he may have oversized the pump…looked like about a 3″ impeller in there. He plumbed in the pump effluent to the drain at the bottom on the WH. Is that a typical installation? It seemed to me that he may be pushing the sediment up the line to all the fixtures? Checked fro hardness in the water and came up with 17 grain/gal. Anybody ever heard of this problem, would it be better to draw water from the top? beats me , Thanks
