How to cap PVC pipe “inside” slab?
I have a 4″ PVC pipe that extended up through my concrete slab. I wanted to cut the pipe and cap it, then pour a little concrete over the capped pipe to level the floor.
I cut the pipe with an “inside PVC pipe cutter”. Unfortunately my “keepaway” material didn’t extend down far enough…so to place a cap on the pipe, I’ll need to rent a demo hammer to chip it away. No big deal…except for those radiant tubes.
Is there an easier way? Any such thing as a “inside PVC cap”? Not very excited about stuffing the pipe with something and just filling in with concrete. It is the unused end of my primary sewer line (well, not the end of the line, that’s a cleanout, but the end of an unused Y)…installed before the pour “just in case” I wanted the line upstairs for a third bathroom…not going to happen. It’s now in the “open” floor.
Any ideas? I think this is the old “If you want something done right….”
Although stuffinf a capped 2 liter bottle down the hole, followed by plastic bags, and then a little concrete will “probably” work forever just as good…LOL…but not desired.

Thanks for the ideas guys! I had never thought of a reducing inserted "upside down" and capped...and I had never seen an all plastic "test plug" and was worried about the concrete/metal problem in 20 years...
Thanks AGAIN!
