I wonder if anyone of you have experience with the evolution.
Usually I install the Badger 5 ($89). But these are for rental or houses for sale they don’t want to spend anything. Even at that I don’t even tell them that there is a cheaper version, the Badger 1 or $69.
I have a client that had the DG jamb up Wednesday. After checking the DG I found that the pipes where also clogged and my little snake would not clear it. Got a plumber in to open the pipe and I reinstalled the GD to close the hole so that she could use the sink.
But the old GB the end of the motor shaft had corroded off.
When I gave her a price range she said she trusted me and would take whatever I suggested. But I also know that she does not want to spend a lot.
The old one was a 777 which was the highest end. The equivalent is now over $300.
I was looking at the Evolution that Lowes has for $168. I has SS parts and 5/8hp motor and auto reverse. It seems to me the sweet point of price performance.
Lowes also has the Badger 10ss which is the Badger, but SS grind ring for $125.

I installed a kitchen for a client and he got the high end GD from Lowes, sorry don't remember the HP or name. This thing was slick. Intalls like any other. SUPER SUPER quiet and vibration free.
What Toolfreak says.
I replaced my GD a year ago with the pricest one ISE from Lowes (~$200). Best GD I ever bought or heard.
The wife could chop me up and dispose of me down the drain with this beast and no one would hear.
Really, really quiet. I like the easily removable rubber catch thingy so it can be cleaned from the backside.
Did I say it was quiet?
That is one of the things that she was not that concerned about was the noise. In fact she said that she had been in houses where they where supper quiet and she was concerned that she would leave it on.But she had the 777, which was the very expensive supper deluxe unit some time ago so it probably had some sound proofing. And the Badger models sound like a diesel with a couple of broken rods..

"I like the easily removable rubber catch thingy so it can be cleaned from the backside."Until I installed it I did not realize what you where talking about.Mine is about 10 YO model. It was a Sears with some sound proofing. Probably about the same price point, but the design has improved since them with the Evolution series. But the flap on mine needed to be replaced. I was getting too much splash and I had to drop the whole thing. Not that hard, but this is certainly a lot easier..
