I have started using “Magic Sliders” when installing stoves in my kitchen remodels. I installed a heavy duty six burner model today on a newly tiled floor. It had metal feet.
The Installation package came with 1/8″ masonite runners and a board that you were supposed to place on the floor so as to protect it. They also recommend using a furniture dolly to move the stove around.
Here is what i did. I set the runners and the board aside. I removed the overn door, racks etc. I layed the stove on its back, placing cardboard between the stove and the floor. I placed the magic sliders on the bottom of each leg. I then got the measurement that I wanted my stove to be in relation to the top of the counter, and adjusted each leg accordingingly. I tipped the stove up and slid it into place to check the height. I was able to fine tune the height easily because the magic sliders make moving the stove in and out a breeze.

Do you leave them in place under the legs when you're done?

Weird when you leave the kitchen, and the stove is right behind you...
Yes. Dishwashers are starting to come with leveling kits. Plastic sleds that allow you to adjust the rear legs once the dishwasher is in place. Fantastically easier install.
Not a bad idea.
