My aunt lives in Miami and she can’t find anyone to install replacement sliding glass doors in her apartment.
She says that the glass door companies and installers she’s called say they don’t do them anymore. But they wouldn’t explain why.
Does anyone know anything about this surprising situation? Does anyone know a reuptable installer in the Miami area?
Thanks.

Probabbly because of possible wind damage from hurricanes...building codes have gotten tougher in smart locations.
That makes sense, but since the door openings haven't gone away, and after reading about all the new technologies and best practices developed after the hurricanes, I would have thought that the real pro's are still doing it because it's a premium service. The people who can afford to have hurricane shutters over their glass doors, are willing to pay to have them installed properly.
Possibly somebody who knows something will be along presently...I'm just a simple shepherd.
I've been using Loewen doors and windows lately, and you can order them with 'Miami-Dade' glass, which I assume is designed to withstand the weather there. I'm wondering if the issues aren't more with water infiltration than storm damage.
I would think this place would (found it with a quick google search, dont know a thing about them)
