Yep. We had a problem at a place that had over 90 cans. While we were working on the place we used regular light bulbs instead of reflectors and throughout the day the lights would get hot, shut down, cool off, and relight.
Kind of freaked us out at first, but once we realized what was going on, we either wouldnt turn them up as high, or we would lower the wattage of the bulbs.
Most 'cans' have a sticker in them listing the maximum size of bulb to use. These stickers list different type bulbs, as well as different types of trim.
Follow those instructions and you should be allright.
