Can anyone from Taunton explain the reasons for going with this new system? It probably won’t change my opinion of it, but I’d be interested in hearing the process that the web crew went through in deciding to change forums in the first place, and then deciding to ultimately pick this particular system.

Thanks Rick. And yes, Mike, you win. Andy Engel, Forum moderator
Andy:
Were the old forums unreliable? I never noticed any problems on my end, but, of course, that doesn't mean there were problems on your end. ;o)
That said, was any consideration given for systems like vBulletin (PHP) ? It's one of the most popular systems out there...very user friendly, identifiable, and about as reliable as you can get when thrown on a Linux system.
As a web developer by trade, I'm not too impressed with the Prospero system. The GUI is incredibly complex and seems to have been designed by sysadmins for sysadmins...not for your regular joe web user.

I have to agree totally with you. Some web designer designed this with to much STUFF in his head and not your local builders just
getting home from work.
This is way to busy and unfriendly in feel.
Not like a home. I like change which is why
I'm in the reno biz but thsi design I really dont
feel so great around. JMHO
Andy,
I trust you're using your customary good judgement. I'll be patient. Please indulge the troglodytes.
