   My guess it has been a less than fun couple of days for our web friends at Breaktime. They seem to be restoring the site again with a couple or three weeks still missing. When everything gets restored with the same current date, its a sign that not all went well...

   When I just checked, they were indexing the site, so it will be interesting to see if all the archives survived.

   Sometimes progress is a step or two back as we try to make those steps forward. For some of us who have been in the trenches with some of these problems, it would be interesting to have the sysops give a synopsis of what transpired. How about it, sysops?

   *Yeah, it looks like we're working from a fairly old backup tape. All that wisdom, lost forever, like a burned Van Gogh...Being a computer person is no fun. When you do something smart, you're taken for granted; when things go wrong it's all your fault. I couldn't believe the incompetence of the IS people in my old job, yet they made more than me (a lawyer). On the other hand was the one smart guy, who I'm sure has found greener pastures by now.

   The sysops were all partying in Times Square. They think they got away clean, no bombs, etc, just wait...how long is the incubation period for anthrax?
