Do many people have experience with these? I’m doing a spec renovation for what will become a slightly below mid-market price house (approx. $360k). I want to install cabinets with a full overlay door and granite or granite tile countertops to give a high(er)-end look (I’ll install the solid granite tops if I can save enough on the cabinets, but I won’t put good tops on a total POS box).
I’ve found only one reference to these cabinets – now known as Armstrong – in the Breaktime forum. The spec’s look good; all wood construction, etc. If no one has experience with these, what would you recommend – based on your own, similar experiences?

I've been designing, custom building and installing kitchens for 22 years and have on occasion installed the IXL brand cabinet. I would rate them as a good cabinet using the Good, Better, Best, Furniture grade scale.
It is only my opinion, but if I am installing cabinets in a home in the 360K price range I would want to use a "better" or "Best" grade cabinet. The extra cost is probably less than $1,000 to $1,200 for the upgrade.
In regard to my company using the IXL brand we used them for kitchens in a apartment complex. Over all not a bad cabinet but definitely not a "better" cabinet.
Some suggestions, Welbourn, Decora, StarMark these are difinitely "Better" grade.
I'm using them in my homes near Houston. Like most modular cabinets I've used, the door fit and finish usually needs some adjustment, but overall, the all wood construction and finish is pretty good. I use the Hampton Honey Oak which is a raised panel door. A good installation makes them look just fine. All the customers that have had them or seen them were happy. Most all the competition is building cabinets on site with just lip mould slab, or recessed panel doors. BTW, I'm installing granite kitchen counters with a tile backsplash.I'm getting granite a better price than I could a corian knockoff. $27 psf with a full 1 1/2" bullnose.
