In what situations do you use biscut joinery and in what situations do you use pocket hole joinery?

Stan, I used to think biscuits were the rage and used them for everything but now mostly I only use biscuits for help aligning items.
Like glueing up tops, but I don't glue the biscuits anymore just put them in dry. I'll use them in joints of big crown on long runs.
I do like to use them when I attach my face frames to my cabinet carsasses.
Now for pocket screws I use them in quit a lot of different ways, assembling face frames, constructing cabinet boxes and just about anything that meets at a right angle.
Pocket screws allow for more time in assembly than biscuits. And if you mess up they're a bit more forgiving if you need to dissasemble.
I would seriously consider using pocket screws in stair building but I thought you did?

el duderino? the dude abides.
We're doing a stain grade job with 2 1/4" casing and using biscuits.
Same job we're making up 9" mahogany jamb stock out of 1 x 6... pocket screws.
I went down to the lobby
To make a small call out.
A pretty dancing girl was there,
And she began to shout,
"Go on back to see the gypsy.
He can move you from the rear,
Drive you from your fear,
Bring you through the mirror.
He did it in Las Vegas,
And he can do it here."
I don't like biscuits as much for miters or angles, they slide about when your not looking ...
I find that biscuits work fine if your trying to keep the faces of the mitered pieces aligned and not using glue.
Here's a photo of my using pocket screws to create a 1930 replica radio for a play. In theater construction looks is everything. I thought I was doing the cabinet quicker this way but It surprised me how much better it came together.
Normally I would have used dadoes or mitres and biscuits.
Thanks everyone. Late Sunday I ordered the Kreg Master Pocket Hole Jig (Okay, hold down the ooooo's and ahhhhh's...I know, I know.) and I was wondering if I should add the PC Biscuit Joiner to my mix of tools or use the $$$ for maybe a Makita Impact Driver.
As for the comments about "Stan." I could be the dude and the other Stan's out there could be the dudes...but what we are not are a bunch of Dudettes (no offense ladies...I like dudettes...which are not to be confused by....well that is another story.) But the long of the short of it is you cany call me HandyStanley."Projects beget projects and projects beget the need to buy new tools and that is what the cycle of life is all about."
I've got the Kreg and the PC bisquit joiner. I use the pocket screws a lot more since I got the Kreg.
