Working on a major rehab on a house we intend to move into when the rehab is done and I am on somewhat of a budget on this as most of the place has to be gutted and redone.
Anyway, working the budget figures right now and got a quote on Kitchen Craft cabinets and wanted to get an opinion on them. We got a quote on solid maple cabinets with full extension drawers, upgraded lazy susans, dovetail drawers, etc.
The price came in and it looks really good.
I did a search but did not find a much information on the quality.
Any opinions on the quality of this product. From what I saw in the showroom the hardware on the high end units looks good and that is what we have quoted. The low end stuff, looks, well, okay end but the high end versions look pretty good.
I provided the measured CAD drawings so there was no design work and the price is tempting. I have no problem installing frameless cabinets and will ensure blocking is in place. I just want to make sure these are pretty decent units.

Any one know anything about these cabinets?
Don't know the brand, and mebbe I'm telling you something you already know, but the hardware don't mean squat. Hardware is easy to replace/upgrade later.
The thing to look for is solid drawer boxes and cabs built out of solid or decent ply, not particle board.

rjgogo,
they are made near here in Waconia Minnesota and the quaility is excellant (my sister installed some in her high end home).. They are well made and filled with some nice features..
I have them in my bathroom..
Thanks, They can be had with solid drawers and that is what I have speced out.
Glad to hear that the delivered product is good.
Thanks for the input.
Are these made in Minnesota, or are they Kitchen Craft from Winnipeg Manitoba? They have a pretty extensive dealer network in the US. If it is the Winnipeg company, I have toured their plant, and it is very good.....very good quality cabinet from what I saw.

The dealer told me Winnipeg headquarters but they could have plants in the US as well. I don't know. Good to know the operation is well run at headquarters. Winnipeg is not all that far from Northern MN.
As far as I know, all manufacturing is in Winnipeg, it's only sales outlets elsewhere, but they are part of a large American owned group so who knows? The Winnipeg plant is something like 2200 people...pretty big plant. I'd be very surprised if they were manufacturing elsewhere given their market share. Anyway, based on Winnipeg, they make a good cabinet....excellent finish. I would put them in the higher echelons of factory cabinets....much better than some bigger names. Hope you are happy with what you get.

Thanks, That is why I posted here, the pricing looks pretty good, so good that is why I wanted to check on quality. The ones in the show room looked good but you can never tell. Going to price the job up at a local shop as well but they do face frame and I really like the frameless better. I checked their website and it is Winnipeg. With the strong Canadian dollar I guess I thought they would cost more but on the other hand that strong Canadian dollar can probably buy hardware and other parts cheaper. I suspect the wood comes out of Canada anyway.
They are made in my home town and are a excellant product.
I had them installed in my own house 10 years ago and they are still like new.
thanks for the feedback I am up in your country about 9 or 10 times a year, but I have never had the honor to go to Manitoba.
RobertLee,
Oh you live in Waconia, Minnesota? Do you go to their surplus sale on most staturdays? I used to go religously.. You could buy a ten foot long piece of 4 inch wide maple crown molding for $2.00 or whole cabinets for a tiny fraction of the list costs.
I really like their stained glass for $5.00 a piece.. I've got enough now to do my whole kitchen cabinets.. Took a lot of visits waiting for the right size and styles but I have them now!
I remember at one point they weren't selling enough surplus doors so they hauled out pallet load after pallet load and put them in the parking lot.. Free!
You should have seen the bumpers drag as the customers loaded up with 30 or 40 cabinet doors in several styles! Surprisingly everything was neat and orderly no pushing and shoving, just polite if you don't want those I'll take them........ ;-)
I brought home several styles to my wife who can't look at pictures and make decisions. However with the doors in hand I'd hold them up and she'd decide yes or no..
My sister bought her cabinets and later found out about the sales.. She was devistated,, what she'd spent something like $13,000 buying they would have similar set ups for $2500.. I need to start going back to those sales I've got a bathroom and a guest kitchen to build yet!
